Unibanco's bylaws establish the payment of mandatory dividends of 35% of net profit, following the creation of a 5% legal reserve. The percentage is well above the minimum required by the Brazilian Corporate Law, of 25%.

Unibanco has started, since the beginning of 2005, to pay dividends on a quarterly basis. Before that date, the distribution was biannual. As to payments related to each quarter, the Board of Directors of both Unibanco and Unibanco Holdings approve the distribution at a fixed amount.

At the end of each semester (therefore, on the second and fourth quarters), in addition to the fixed amounts, shareholders will receive complementary payments related to the net profit of both Unibanco and Unibanco Holdings for the period. As a result, the amounts to be paid on the second and fourth quarters tend to be higher than those of the other periods.

The following table presents the amounts distributed, related to the payment for the third quarter of 2008.
